How to Use the Plate Tuning Audio Analyzer
1. Load or Record Audio
- Load Audio: Click the "Load" button to upload a WAV file of your guitar plate tap tones.
- Record Audio: Click the "Record" button to capture live tap tones using your microphone.
2. Visualize the Frequency Spectrum
Once the audio is loaded or recorded, the real-time FFT canvas will display the frequency spectrum. The line FFT canvas below provides a detailed view of the frequency distribution. Hover your mouse over the graph to see specific frequency and dB values at any point.
3. Select and Label Frequencies
- Normal Mode: Click on any peak in the line FFT graph to mark and label frequencies of interest.
- Plate Tuning Mode: Activate this mode by clicking the "Plate Tuning Mode" button. You will be guided to select three specific peaks: Long, Cross, and Transverse. Each selection will be labeled accordingly in the frequency table.
4. Manage Your Selections
- Frequency Table: All selected frequencies are listed in the table below the FFT canvases.
- Clear Selections: Click the "Clear" button to remove all frequency labels and reset your selections.
5. Calculate Plate Thickness
After selecting the necessary frequencies in Plate Tuning Mode, a link will appear below the frequency table.
Click this link to open the Thickness Calculator with your selected frequencies pre-filled, allowing you to determine the required thickness for your guitar plate.
6. Save Your Audio
If you wish to retain the current audio for future reference or further analysis, click the "Save" button. This will download the loaded or recorded audio file to your local device.
Additional Features
- Frequency Generator Mode: Enable this mode to generate tones corresponding to frequencies as you hover over the FFT graph.
- Plate Tuning Reset: Reset your frequency selections and start the plate tuning process anew.
